ISAN UDAY SCHOLARSHIP

ISAN UDAY SCHOLARSHIP FOR NORTH EASTERN REGION.




1.ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP



  • To provide equal opportunities for higher studies in NE Region. 
  • To increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in NE Region. 
  • To focus more on professional education in NE Region. 
  •  Optimum utilization of NER Budgetary Allocation. 
  • It is envisaged to provide ten thousand (10,000) fresh scholarships.
  • Every year beginning from the academic year 2014-15 now in 2018-19.
  • General degree courses, technical and professional courses, including medical and para-medical courses.

2.
Eligibility
  • Students with domicile of NER who have passed Class XII.
  • Only first year Under-graduate students are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • integrated degree courses the scholarship will be tenable for the complete of the course. 
  • For dual degree courses the scholarship shall be tenable for the first degree only.

7. AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP

           An amount of general Degree course on Rs. 5400.00 p.m. & professional / technical  degree course
on Rs. 7400.00 p.m. ( The amount will credit on there Bank Account).




8. DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP AND RENEWAL


       
1) The scholarship granted under the scheme will be kept renewed during the period of 


the first degree course, subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed 
attendance. 

       
2) Students failing to get promoted to the next class/level would get the scholarship in the 


following year,subject to the condition that if the student fails again for the second 
time, he/she would forfeit the scholarship and it would not be renewed for the 
remaining period of the course.

       
3) If an award is unable to appear in the annual examination owing to illness and/or on 


account of any  unforeseen event, the scholarship may be renewed for the next 
academic year on submission of medical certificate and other proof to the satisfaction 
of the Head of the Institution.

       
4) The progress of the scholar is to be monitored by the head of the department of the 


Universities/Colleges/Institutions. The scholar is required to submit quarterly 
continuation certificate duly signed by the head of the  Institution of the 
Universities/Colleges/Institutions to the designated branch of nominated bank.

       
5) Any student who discontinues the studies without prior approval of the UGC will have 


to refund the whole amount through e-mode (RTGS/NEFT) directly to UGC account.

       
6) An award would be allowed to continue/renew his/her scholarship if he/she changes 


the course of study to a  another  stream (e.g. Law, Fashion Technology, etc.). 
Students pursuing courses in which the duration is 5 years, would get scholarship at 
the prescribed rates for the duration of the course. 


       
7) Students changing their college/institute of study would be allowed to continue/renew 




the scholarship provided the course of study and the institution is recognized, subject 
to the condition that the scholarship will not be paid twice for the same year of study. 

       8) In case the scholarship is cancelled for any reason, the decision of the UGC will be 
final. In the event of de-notification/deletion of any institution, the scholarship will 
continue to be available to the students already admitted under the scheme, if 
otherwise eligible, till completion of the course.
       9) The scholar will be allowed to transfer his/her place of study as well as the course only 
once in the entire tenure of the scholarship.  If the scholar switches from general 
degree course to technical or professional course he will be entitled for the amount of 
general degree course only, as initially sanctioned.  If he/she switches from technical 
or professional course to general degree course he would be entitled for the amount of 
general degree course only.


9.DOCUMENTS

      The students would submit all the following  documents duly forwarded by the 
Competent Authority (Registrar/Principal/Director) to the designated Bank 
branch/Disbursing agency authorized by the UGC.
1. Joining Proforma for fresh awardees (Annexure-I)
2. Proforma for renewal ( Annexure-II)
3. Certificate of income by the Competent Authority of the State Government in 
which the student is domiciled.
4. Domicile  State Certificate by the Competent Authority.
5. Quarterly Continuation certificate(Annexure-III)
6. Affidavit (Undertaking for not availing any other Scholarship in the form of an 
affidavit on Rs.50/- Stamp paper from the student/parent duly attested by SDM 
/ First Class Magistrate / Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of Tahsildar) 
copying the prescribed languages (Annexure-IV))
