What is GREEN Olympiad, TERI 2018?

GREEN Olympiad, TERI 2018 invites applications from students of class 4 to 10 studying at schools affiliated to recognized educational trusts and boards in India or abroad. It is an annual examination conducted to test the knowledge of students regarding environmental issues and educate as well as sensitize them in the process. 

Who is offering this scholarship ?

The Olympiad is being conducted by the Environment Education and Awareness Area (EEA) of the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).   

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

An applicant must -
  • Be a student of class 4 to 10 enrolled in a school affiliated with recognized educational trusts and boards. 
Note: The Olympiad will be conducted at three levels including - 
  • Level 1: Class 4 - 5
  • Level 2: Class 6 -8
  • Level 3: Class 9 - 10

How can you apply ?

Individual applications by students are not allowed. The students are expected to participate through their schools by adopting the following steps -
Step 1: Download the registration form from here. 
Step 2: Fill in all required details and submit the form to the school along with the registration fee of INR 75. 
Step 3: The schools are required to deduct INR 5 per student (towards the expenditure for conducting examination) and prepare a bank draft of the remaining amount (INR 70 per student) in favour of TERI. 
Step 4: The schools are then required to send the registration forms along with the list of participants and bank draft to TERI at -

What are the important dates ?

Last date for registration - 31 July 2018
Date of Examination - 7 September 2018 and 24 October 2018

Terms and Conditions

  • The theme of this year's Olympiad is "Environment and Sustainable Development". 
  • The examination will be of 1-hour duration carrying multiple choice questions in both English and Hindi language. 
  • There will be no negative marking in the examination. 
  • While there is no maximum limit of nominations prescribed for the schools, a minimum of 10 students participating at each level is a must. 
    • Each participating school will be a center for its registered students for examination.
