What is JM Sethia Merit Scholarship Scheme 2018?

JM Sethia Merit Scholarship Scheme 2018 invites applications from students enrolled in class 9 to 12, graduation or post graduation courses. The scholarship is applicable only for students pursuing full-time courses only. 

Who is offering this scholarship ?

The scholarship is being offered by JM Sethia Charitable Trust since 1997. 

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

The students under following categories are eligible for the scholarship -
  • Category A: For class 9 and 10 students with 75% aggregate in class 8 or equivalent
  • Category B: For class 11 and 12 students with 75% aggregate in class 10 or equivalent
  • Category C: For Graduation students with 75% aggregate (in Science/Commerce stream) and 65% aggregate (in Humanities/Arts) in class 12 or equivalent.
  • Category D: For Post-graduation students with 60% aggregate (in Science & Commerce) and 50% aggregate (in Humanities/Arts) in graduation.

The candidates need to adopt the following application procedure to apply for the scholarship -

Step 2: Read all instructions carefully and fill in all necessary details 
Step 3: Attach attested copies of supporting documents (Certificates/Mark Sheets)

What are the benefits ?

  • Category A- 15 students will receive INR 400 per month for 2 years. 
  • Category B- 15 students will receive INR 500 per month for 2 years. 
  • Category C- 10 students will receive INR 600 per month for 2 or 3 years as applicable. 
  • Category D- 10 students will receive INR 700 per month for 2 or 3 years as applicable. 

What are the selection criteria ?

A high-level selection panel constituted by the Trust Management will discuss and analyse the merit list for final selection of the scholars. 

What are the important dates ?

  • Last date to apply for the scholarship: 31 July 2018
  • Date of selection of candidate: August
  • Date of disbursement of scholarship: September or within the month prior to the next quarter. 

Terms and Conditions

20% of total scholarships available in each category are reserved for -
  • Special category - handicapped
  • Excellence in extra-curricular activities like sports, NCC 'B' certificate holder debating, dramatics & social services
  • Economically weaker section- of those students whose parents annual income is not more than INR 1,20,000.

What are the documents required for the JM Sethia Merit Scholarship Scheme 2018 ?

  • Copy of mark sheet for the last examination passed
  • Copy of income proof 
  • Copy of certificate proving reservation (if any reservation is applicable)
