Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) to Promote All Students of Classes 1 to 8 without Examinations

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided to promote all students between classes 1 and 8 without conducting examinations for the promotion to the next academic year 2020-21.

“The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided that students of classes 1 to 8, whether appeared in session ending examination 2019-20 or not due to any reason, may be promoted to the next higher class and their verification of fee be done accordingly,” an official said.

Considering the outbreak of COVID-19 across the country and lock down announced until April 14th, the deputy commissioner of KVS for all regions issued an order about the promotion of students of class 1 to 8 in the session 2019-20 as per provisions of Right to Education act 2009.

The principals of all KV schools across the country have been directed to promote students of class 1st and 2nd to next higher class on the basis of their performance in monthly achievement test conducted in the session 2019-20.

Students of class 1 and 2 will be promoted to the next higher class on the basis of their performance in the monthly achievement test conducted in the session 2019-20. Students of Class 3 to 8 will be promoted on the basis of the weightage given in the subjects in which they could not appear in the session ending examination.

Apart from this, students from class 1 to 8 who got ‘E’ grade in final result will also be promoted to the next class without any improvement test and students who were absent on medical ground will also be promoted to the next class.

Kendriya Vidyalaya will communicate the result of Class 1 to 8 via e-mail/WhatsApp/SMS to the parents or guardians.
